GROUND BEEF STROGANOFF



This is the best beef stroganoff. It's a creamy, flavor-packed hamburger broth that's best served with egg noodles. Definitely a comfort food dish. For me, it's on the menu near fried chicken and okra. I love Stroganoff's humble roots. It's not pretentious, it uses simple ingredients and it's an inexpensive dish that can easily feed your whole family. Just some ground beef, spices, an easy broth mix and a bum - dinner is served!

* Ingredients :

° 1 pound minced meat
° 1/2 cup yellow onion cut into cubes
° 1 teaspoon minced garlic (about 1-2 cloves)
° 3 tablespoons butter
° 3 tablespoons of flour
° 1 1/2 cups beef broth
° 1 cup sour cream
° 1 can cream mushroom soup
° Salt / pepper 
° Egg noodles, cooked as directed on package

* Directions :

Bring a pot of water to a boil and begin cooking the egg noodles according to package directions.
In a large skillet over medium heat, saute ground beef with onion and garlic until fully cooked.
Drain the ground beef to remove excess fat from the skillet. Place the skillet on the stove over medium heat (do not add ground beef again).
Adding butter to skillet and permit it melt. Then add the flour to the pan, whisk and let it absorb the butter.
Add the meat broth and whisk vigorously to remove any clumps, raising the heat to high, and bringing to a boil for 2-3 minutes until you see it thicken slightly.
Bring the heat down to medium and whisk in the sour cream soup and cream of mushrooms. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
Add salt and pepper. Keep tasting the mixture until it has seasoned the way you like it. If it becomes too thick, add a little beef broth.
Add ground beef to the mixture again until heated through. Serve over egg noodles.
