German Chocolate Cake

Fabulous chocolate cake.

°1/2 cup water
°4 squares (28 g each) of chocolate
°1 cup soft butter
°2 cups of sugar
°4 egg yolks
°1 c. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
°1 cup of milk
°2 cups cake flour
°1 c. baking soda
°1/2 tsp. salt
°4 egg yolks
°1 cup sugar
°1 cup evaporated milk
°1/2 cup butter
°3 scrambled egg yolks
°1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
°1 cup chopped pecans
°1 c. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
°1/2 tsp. teaspoon vegetable fat
°1 square (28 g) semi-sweet chocolate

*Preparation steps

Preparation: 30 minutes › Cooking: 30 minutes › Preparation: 1 hour

Heat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Greased & grease 3 around cake-mold. Sifting flour with baking soda also salt. In  saucepan, dissolve 4 square German chocolate with water. Removing it from heat also let it cool.

In a large bowl, whisk 1 cup butter and 2 cups sugar. Whisk  4 egg yolks, one at  time. Add melt chocolate & vanilla. While continuing to whisk, add the flour alternately with the milk. Stir just enough until everything is wet.

In  glass or metal bowl, beat egg whites to stiff peaks form. Incorporate one-third of the beaten egg whites into the flour and chocolate mixture, and fold with a spoon. Add the rest of the whites quickly but gently.

Pour the mixture into 3 prepared molds. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick is inserted in the center of the cake until dry. Permit it cool about 10 min before remove the molds on rack.

To making garnish: In  saucepan, blend 1 c of sugar, evaporated-milk, 1/2 c of butter, also 3 egg yolks. Cooking on low heat, stir constantly, to thick. Remove from heat and add coconut, walnuts and vanilla. Let cool until the frosting is thick enough to spread over the cake.

Spreading icing among cake also on 3 stacked cakes. In a small saucepan, melt the shortening and 1 square of the semi-sweet chocolate. Sprinkle over cake.
