Meatball Marinara Appetizers



Who can resist Italian meatballs cooked in tomato sauce? Not us! So much so that they made their way to the cover of 15 #8 magazine.

* ingredients :

+tomato sauce
°3 garlic cloves, minced
°1 bay leaf
°1 ml (1/4 teaspoon) ground pepper flakes
°30 ml (2 tsp) olive oil
°1 can  Italian tomatoes
meat ball
°Two slices of white sandwich bread
°1/4 cup (60 ml) milk
°450 gm ground veal
°150 g (1 12 cups) fresh grated Parmesan cheese
°1 egg
°1 clove finely minced garlic
°10 g (1/4 cup) chopped parsley
°½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
°1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) ground fennel
°1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) dried thyme
°1 ml (1/4 teaspoon) ground pepper flakes

* Preparation :

In a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, lightly saute garlic, bay leaf, and cayenne pepper in oil. Add the tomatoes and simmer for 30 minutes or until they begin to burst. Using a potato masher, coarsely mash the tomatoes. Salt and Pepper. stay warm
meat balls
Meanwhile, in a food processor, finely chop the slices of bread until you get crumbs. In  bowl, mixing breadcrumbs with milk also permit it soak for 5 min . Adding rest of ingredients & blending well with your hand.
With oiled hand, shape every meatball with for 30ml (2 tsp) of meat blending .
Put the meatballs in the tomato sauce. Cover and cook for 10 minutes over medium-low heat, flipping it a few times while cooking. Remove the lid and cook for 10 minutes or until the meatballs are tender.
Serve the meatballs with pasta and boiled rapini or with bread.
